Step-by-step guide
How to verify a peptide COA: confirm the report with the lab, step by step
By Vitality Chems · Published · updated · vendor-authored explanatory note
Short answer
To verify a peptide COA, match the lot number on the report to the lot on your vial, then confirm the report with the issuing laboratory itself, through the lab's own lookup page or by email, and compare every value. A certificate the lab cannot confirm is unverified, however professional it looks. Then check that it shows purity with a method, identity by mass, and a measured quantity.

The seven steps
Work through these in order. Steps 4 and 5 are the ones that separate a real report from an edited or borrowed one.
- Read the lot number printed on your vial label.
- Open the certificate for that exact lot and confirm the lot number on the report matches the vial character for character.
- Note the issuing laboratory, the report or accession number, and the report date.
- Go to the laboratory's own website by typing its address, not by following a link inside the PDF.
- Use the lab's report lookup, or email the lab with the report number, and compare the lab's record with your copy: compound, lot, date, purity and quantity.
- Check that the report gives a purity figure with its method, identity data with an observed mass, and a measured quantity in mg.
- If the lab cannot find the report or any value differs, treat the certificate as unverified.
Worked example: BPC-157 lot BC10051926
Our BPC-157 10mg report for lot BC10051926 was issued by Vanguard Laboratory on 2026-06-01 (HPLC-UV/VIS: purity >99.80% ± 0.18%, measured quantity 11.21 mg).
Vanguard's Verified by Vanguard portal searches by the brand name printed on the certificate plus the report, product or lot. The lab-hosted record for this report is at https://www.verifiedbyvanguard.com/verify/056543ba-e36f-48a8-96e7-3e51650af71a. Compare the values on that page with the copy on our verify page.
Freedom Diagnostics works differently: The lab's lookup searches by Search Code (first four letters of the client's company name plus the accession number), accession number, or company name. Its lookup page is https://freedomdiagnosticstesting.com/search-for-your-coa-based-on-the-unique-accession-number/.
What we publish, and what we do not
As of 2026-10-31, 4 of our 8 published reports have a lab-hosted verification page that we opened and matched. For the others, the copies we hold do not print the client identifier the lab lookups require, so we mark them as pending lab confirmation rather than verified.
Lab confirmation shows the report is genuine. It does not tell you which tests were run; use the testing standards table for that.

Frequently asked
How do I know a peptide COA is real?
Confirm it with the issuing laboratory: use the lab's own lookup page or email the lab with the report number, then compare compound, lot, date, purity and quantity with your copy.
Is a QR code on a COA enough?
Not by itself. Check that the code opens a page on the lab's own domain, then compare the values. A code can point anywhere.
What if the lot on the report differs from my vial?
Then the report documents a different lot. It says nothing about the material in your vial.
Which of your reports can be confirmed on the lab's site?
4 of 8, linked from each lot's page on /verify. The rest are marked as pending lab confirmation.
